Breath – The word “Breath” is a noun. It is the air that is taken in and expelled during breathing

Example: (A)  he took a deep breath and dived into the pool  (B)  He would fight until his last breath.

 

Breathe – The word “Breathe” is a verb.  To breathe means to draw air into, and expel out of, the lungs

Example: (A) I can breathe better when the air is clean  (B) Virtually all fish breathe through gills.
