Students of OAU, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, were expecting Osinbajo at a session organized by the Institution Campus Connect Initiative, Students due to the fact that Osinbajo did not turn up, expressed anger over the absence of Vice-Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

It was reported that Osinbajo sent representatives but he arrived the campus at about 12.10pm for a programme that was supposed to start by 10am.

Ostensibly angered by the absence of Osinbajo, the hosts and other students started trooping out of the venue of the programme, shouting ‘no’ repeatedly.

It was learnt that the 2,000-seater hall, which was filled to the brim, was left with about 150 students and three persons on the high table.

The aggrieved students claimed that their school was known for learning and culture, arguing t‎hat Osinbajo would have communicated to them earlier that he was no longer coming.

They lamented that they shunned classes and other academic activities for the interactive session.

“All these politicians should know that we hate to be taken for granted. We are trained to be cultured and we like to show respect but we don’t condone indiscipline. We understand ‎he might have been held down by one or two things, but we should have been informed earlier,” one of the aggreived students said.

Another student added, “Almost everyone is angry. We stabbed our classes and felt that we should honour him with our presence but he fumbled. You can imagine the large turnout of students. He really needs to apologise to the students.”‎
