The incubent Governor of sokoto, Aliyu Wamakko, has declared Friday as work free day for the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards to the residents.

Imploring those yet to collect their PVCs to come out en masse and collect them, saying doing this would enable them to exercise their franchise during the elections.
He also stressed that “The PVC remains the only weapon the voters can use to elect the candidates of their choice during the forthcoming polls,” it said.
He added in his statement that, “The state government warns the people of the state of the activities of members of a syndicate going round the state and buying off PVCs from unsuspecting eligible voters. ” This act is illegal and punishable by the laws of the country and such cards are useless on election dates due to the introduction of the use of card readers by INEC.”
