The State Deputy Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Mr. Johnson Kokumo, speaking after the State Security Council Meeting presided over by Governor Babatunde Fashola, have assured residents of the readiness of the Command to work in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure hitch-free elections this month and next month.
Reacting to the incident that happened in Oshodi two weeks ago, Kokumo said security had since been beefed up in the area with Armoured Personnel Carriers deployed to strategic locations adding that such incident would never occur again. See Excerpts:
“Already security has been beefed up all over the place; if you go there now, you will see things for yourself. We have in place Armoured Personnel Carriers, we have adequate number of Police Mobile Force units deployed there.
“We also have intelligence officers who are collecting information to ensure that before any evil plans are carried out we would have gotten information; meaning that proactive measures are in place,” he said.
