A businessman and prominent member of the PDP in Lagos, Chief Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi, is set to dump the party, for the All Progressives Congress (APC). Gbadamosi, popularly referred to as BOG ran for the gubernatorial ticket with five others in the primary that produced Mr. Jimi Agbaje.
Investigations revealed that the APC has been making overtures to Gbadamosi viewed as a plus to their campaign strategy both at the state and federal levels. A source at the APC hierarchy said talks had reached an advanced stage for BOG to decamp to the party.
Gbadamosi’s decision to dump the PDP may not be unconnected with the failure of his former party to honour the pact at a peace meeting last December in Lagos. While the other aspirants from that meeting have been rewarded with various appointments, he is yet to receive anything from the party.
Gbadamosi, the Chairman of RedBrick Homes, owners of Amen Estate, Lekki Pennisula, is said to have spent over N500m on his gubernatorial ambition, including money spent on the party at the local level.
