2 persons arraigned for setting vehicles ablaze in Lagos


Report gathered that two persons, Wasiu Adebayo, 41, and Rasheed Alamu, 40, have been charged before an Ikeja magistrate’s court in Lagos for allegedly setting on fire cars valued at N14.4m, property of one Alhaji Aliu Sulaimon.

Adebayo and Alamu were said to have also unlawfully damaged three commercial buses, with Reg. No. GGE 295 XF, AKD 633 XM, SMK 765 XC and AKD 238 XM).

The accused persons were arraigned on a six-count charge of breach of peace, display of arms in public and unlawful damage of property.

According to the prosecutor, ASP Samson Ekikere, the offence is punishable under Section 338 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2011.

However, when the charge was read to the accused persons before Magistrate Aye Afunwa, they pleaded not guilty.
