Police in Kubwa have arrested a 38-year-old security guard attached to a church for allegedly defiling a 9-year-old girl in Phase 2, Site 2, Kubwa, a satellite town of the FCT.
The suspect, a security guard, in one of the churches in the area, was said to have had carnal knowledge of the girl over a year before the day he was arrested.
Report gathered, that he waited for the victim, a primary four pupil, at the back of her school and abducted her to a location where he engaged her in the act.
The source said trouble ensued when the girl did not come home after school till the following day.
“The parent became worried and visited the pastor of the church in whose house the suspect works,” the source added.
However, learnt that the pastor informed the police who arrested the suspect, while the victim was taken to the Kubwa General Hospital where it was confirmed that she was defiled.
In another case, an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) was said to have slumped and died in his bedroom at PW area of Kubwa.
The body of the deceased, it was learnt, was discovered in the room, by his uncle, without any trace of wound or assault.
According to report, he was rushed to hospital where he was confirmed dead and deposited at the mortuary.
Confirming both incidents, the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Nurudeen Sabo, said the suspect was undergoing interrogation at the station.
He said the case of the civil defense officer was under investigation, adding that the cause of the death was yet to be ascertained.
