Federal Allocation To Ekiti Is Too Poor – Fayose Cries Out

Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has re-emphasised the need for business owners, private organizations and individuals to pay their taxes as at when due, adding that federal-allocation to the state is not enough.

The governor said he will soon convoke a tax payer’s summit where citizens will be enlightened on the need for tax payment.

Fayose stated this on Wednesday September 9, during the education summit organised by the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Ado Ekiti.
He said the monthly federal allocation to the Ekiti is too small to take care of the state workforce, not to talk of embarking on developmental projects.

According to him, government is left with no option than to work on increasing the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

It would be recalled that the Fayose ordered all private nursery, primary and secondary schools in the state to pay the sum of N150,000 each to the state government before resumption by the middle of September to jack up the state IGR, during his monthly media chat, ‘Meet Your Governor’.
