Prior to the issuance of the arrest warrant by the CCT, Saraki had approached a High Court which gave ruling faulting the process of his planned arraignment at the of Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

The Tribunal ordered the Inspector General of Police to arrest and produce the Senate President before it on Monday.

The Tribunal ruled that Saraki must be available to take plea in the 13-count charge slammed on him by the Federal Government over alleged false declaration of assets.

A deputy director in the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. M.S. Hassan, applied for the arrest order following Saraki’s refusal to appear before the Tribunal to enter his plea.

It was stated that a Justice of the High Court lacked the powers to summon the CCT and CCB chairmen, even as it accused Saraki of engaging in “forum shopping” in a desperate bid to scuttle his trial.

The case against Saraki:

The 13-count charge accused him of making anticipatory declaration of assets, false declaration of assets and maintenance of foreign account contrary to the Third Schedule of the Constitution.

  1. IG please ensure you fulfill your promise because Nigerian are waiting.
No sacread cow anymore. Whosoever that corrupt let the law take it course because no one is above the law. If somebody can still a yam tubber and be sentence to jail, let that same law nail the so call big all in the name of political power. Avoid double standard and see wether God will not take us serious and return all our glory.

  2. We all know that won’t happen. Saraki will present himself before the tribunal on Monday. But a note of warning should be sent to that OVER BLEACHED FULANI FREAK CALLED DANLADI USMAN. You have dined with the devil, and licked your fingers. I hope you will be able to withstand the heat when they send you to HELL to live with the devil.

  3. The FCT Command will most likely effect the order. Not arresting Saraki is contempt of court and NO IGP/Commissioner will want to be docked in such a case.

  4. My fingers remain crossed. As long as I don’t see saraki in a black Maria, I don’t think all these saraki issues is worth commenting on.

Nigeria judicial system can’t be trusted. Before one would know it, one useless injunction will just dabaru everything and it will automatically be back to square-one……..

  5. This is an old news as police are still “awaiting orders” for the arrest.
For those who didn’t read, Arase hasn’t issued any statement.

  6. What hapind to ‘no arrest for sitting political adminstrators’?

    The trash this is!

Till I hear that a sitting President gets arrested, this remains crap cheesy
