Chelsea are reportedly ready to make an offer of around £43million plus Cesc Fabregas in an attempt to seal the transfer of Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain this January.
The Blues are looking to make some changes in midfield this winter after building a new-look side without the once-influential Fabregas, and Verratti appears to be one of their top targets.
Antonio Conte is apparently a big fan of his fellow Italian, whom he knows well from their time together with the national team before leaving the job to move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Chelsea are now prepared to pay big to reunite the pair this season, with £43m on offer along with Fabregas heading in the opposite direction, according to Mediaset Premium.
Verratti has long been a key player for PSG but faces increased competition for a place in midfield this season after the summer arrival of Grzegorz Krychowiak in that position.
Fabregas, meanwhile, has been linked with the likes of AC Milan after Conte’s preference for a partnership of Nemanja Matic and new-boy N’Golo Kante in the centre.
