Arsenal supporters thought they were over the worst of it when the November curse was lifted and December finally came around.
However, just a few hours into the new month, Arsene Wenger was dealt a major blow as Santi Cazorla was ruled out for a further three months following his ankle surgery.
The Spanish midfielder suffered an Achilles injury in the Gunners’ 6-0 thumping of Ludogorets in mid-October and has not made an appearance since.
And, following Cazorla’s latest setback, a large section of optimistic Gooners were calling for Wenger to do the unthinkable – bring Cesc Fabregas back to north London.
Many fans still hold a grudge with Fabregas off the back of controversial moves to Barcelona and Chelsea but it appears they’re willing to forgive the 29-year-old amid an injury crisis in midfield.
Fabregas has only made four Premier League appearances under Antonio Conte this season and has been linked with a transfer to Italy – could he be set for a move closer to home, though?
