Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was lying about John Obi Mikel’s injury, source claims

Chelsea star John Obi Mikel is not actually injured and is concerned that Antonio Conte is not playing him this season, according to a source close to the midfielder.

Mikel, who has made 374 appearances for the Blues across 11 seasons at Stamford Bridge, is yet to play a single minute of first-team football under Conte this term.

The Italian manager stated that the 29-year-old was ruled out of Chelsea’s league clash with Tottenham after picking up a knock but it’s since been claimed that this was not the case.

‘Mikel is not injured and is bothered why he is not being played by Antonio Conte,’ a top source told All Nigeria Soccer.

‘The coach was looking for an excuse not to play him.’

Reports suggest Jose Mourinho is interested in reuniting with Obi Mikel at Old Trafford – and it appears Manchester United are not the only team interested in the Nigerian.

‘There are many offers he is studying and he will decide the new club he will join in December.’

  1. Conte is trying to assemble a team of fast players but Mikel is somehow slow ( the same thing that affected Song at Bar can). Instead of making any direct derogatory statement, he lied which I will still say it is a sign of respect for Mikel. I am sure you don’t want to hear Conte saying ” Mikel has no place in my team”
