Arsene Wenger has confirmed Olivier Giroud will miss Arsenal’s trip to West Ham this weekend.
The Frenchman was expected to be in contention but a slight groin strain has ruled him out.
Giroud didn’t feature in the midweek EFL Cup defeat to Southampton but Wenger is expecting him back for Tuesday’s Champions League clash away to FC Basel.
‘I thought Giroud would be available tomorrow,’ Wenger said ahead of the West Ham game. ‘But the last news I got he will not be available for tomorrow.
‘He’ll have a test today.
‘But he’ll definitely be available for Tuesday.’
Wenger also revealed Mathieu Debuchy will be out of action for six weeks, while he won’t be signing a replacement for Santi Cazorla in January.
