Chelsea defender David Luiz has played down the seriousness of Manchester City star Sergio Aguero’s horror tackle on him.
The Argentinian flew in to the Brazilian on Saturday, and was sent off by Anthony Taylor for his trouble.
However, Luiz thinks that it is just one of the many incidents that can happen in a football match, and dismissed claims that the challenge was malicious.
‘I don’t like to publicise things. This is not part of the beautiful football,’ the centre-back said after the 2-1 Chelsea victory.
‘Aguero is an amazing player, he scores a lot, he wins a lot. It is better when you talk about Aguero to talk about good things rather than bad things.
‘It is quite normal frustration when you don’t win the game and I don’t like to speak about negative things. It is normal in football – when you win you be happy, when you lose you be sad.’
Aguero and Luiz have clashed before, with the striker committing a two-footed lunge on the Blues ace during the 2013 FA Cup semi-final.
However, it appears that Luiz still doesn’t hold any grudge against the Sky Blues talisman.
