The much anticipated meeting between the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under the chairmanship of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and the party’s conclave in the Senate led by Senate President, Bukola Saraki has been rescheduled to Wednesday.
The meeting would have been the first time since the induction of the National Assembly on June 9, 2015, that the party leadership and the party’s group in the Senate led by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki met and discussed at an official level.
According to a reliable source, “the meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, all things being equal. There was poor communication on both sides”.
The meeting, sources say was organized to lay a new foundation for a new renewed relationship between the party and its caucus at the National Assembly.
Recall that there has been no love lost between Buhari, the leadership of the party and Saraki since June 9, 2015 when the Senate president and Speaker emerged against the wish of the party.
There has never been a meeting between the Senate leadership as well as the APC caucus in the Senate and the party leadership.
