LASEMA gives out emergency number as suicide rates may increase due to MMM crash

The ‘frozen’ accounts and alleged crash of the Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, otherwise known as ‘MMM’, has caused the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, to take proactive steps with the view that suicide rate ‘may’ rise in the state.

The agency on its Twitter handle @lasemasocial, gave out an emergency number to call should any case of suicide arise in any part of the state.

It said, “Dial 112 if you see any in your area. #LagosCares.”

LASEMA gave the advice after a twitter user cautioned that suicide rates may increase in Lagos, due to the controversial ‘pause’ of the scheme.

This is coming a few hours after a soon-to-wed Benue man drank insecticide following the alleged crash of the Ponzi scheme.

Recall that promoters and participants of MMM in Nigeria on Tuesday woke up to the shocking news that the ponzi scheme was frozen and all confirmed accounts suspended.
