Policeman sentence for having sex with rape victim in toilet

A police officer has been sentenced for 22 months for having sex with a rape victim times without number and in a McDonald’s toilet.

33-year-old Charlotte Peters, from Luton, was a Sexual Offences Exploitation and Child Abuse Command in the Metropolitan Police when she had a relationship with a young female victim she’d been assigned to assist.

Judge Anthony Leonard at Southwark Crown Court, sentenced her after she previously pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office.

Prosecuting officer, Kate Bex, said Peters was in a position of trust and should have known how to  deal with the ’emotional impact’ on victims of sexual assault.

The court heard that the first sexual contact which started with a kiss on February 24 at the refuge where the victim was staying developed into several sexual encounters including the final one they had in McDonald’s toilet.

  1. Ah! Naija Police sha??.
A rape victim passing through serious mental trauma and needed to be stabilized by sympathizers and reassured, now became another “rape victim again” under the so-called law enforcement officer that should take up her case and ensure justice. Too bad?
