White House Confirms Trumps Phone Conversation With Buhari

President Donald Trump of the U.S has confirmed his telephone conversation with President Muhammdu Buhari.

White House Press Secretary and Communications Director, Sean Michael Spicer made the confirmation on Tuesdayin Washington.

Spicer said this in his introduction of Tuesday’s White House Press Briefing.

He mentioned that President Trump “on Monday spoke with President Buhari of Nigeria, President Jacob Zuma of South Africa”.

Spicer also noted that Trump received the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.

President Buhari who is in the United Kingdom spoke with Trump on telephone at the request of the latter.

His spokesman, Femi Adesina, said the chat was cordial.

He said President Buhari congratulated Trump on his election as President of the United States and on his cabinet.

Adesina added that both leaders discussed ways to improve cooperation in the fight against terrorism through provision of necessary equipment.

Adesina quoted Trump as encouraging President Buhari to keep up “the good work he is doing.”

He said Trump also commended Buhari for the efforts made in rescuing 24 of the Chibok Girls and the efforts of the Nigerian military.

Recall that human rights group, International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law (Intersociety), had advised Nigerians not to believe the reported conversation until the US confirms

  1. Patriotic Nigerians, who believe their genuine leaders, never doubted that there was such conversation. The never-do-wells, the looters & enemies of the country, for obvious reasons will always not want to hear or know the truth. As ridiculous as it sounds, they are now asking for s recording of the conversation, even if no Nigerian leader has ever done that. My only consolation is that these thieves, their benefactors, families and friends are in the minutest of minority in the country and therefore don’t really matter.
