Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, over an alleged cyberstalking committed against him by the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr Omoyele Sowore.
In the letter, Melaye, whom the online news medium alleged did not complete his BSc degree in Geography at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, accused Sowore of publishing false and vexatious information against him.
Also named in the petition are Temitope Olumuyide, Incorporated Trustees of Sahara Reporters media Foundation, and Sahara Reporters Media group Inc.
He wrote, “I will like to draw your attention to the recent cyberstalking acts committed against my person by the following individuals and organisations.”
Continuing Melaye added, “Sir, this act is highly vexatious, an insult and an attempt to impair, harm, damage and assassinate my character.
“I humbly implore you, Sir, to use your good office to order immediate investigation of this act and ensure the said individuals and organisations are made to answer to the law.”
