It was children’s day on the 27th of May and Adelove Charity Foundation went to celebrate this day that is specially set aside with the children of Mother Theresa’s Orphanage Home. we were wowed by everything that had to do with this orphanage, ranging from how smart the children were to how beautiful and neat they all looked.
Celebrating this day with music blaring at the background, watching the smiles on the faces of the children as they watched us do our thing; the smiles on our faces as they did their things will have a lasting effect on anyone. They presented a choreography so perfectly even though we had just few minutes to rehearse the dance routines, some sang while some played games. It was a day to remember indeed.
I am sure the smiles we were able to put in their faces will last, many of them will sleep with thoughts of Adelove’s visit still lingering in their minds. Like I would say, children will not remember you for the material things most times but for how you made them feel. Did you make them feel loved, did you make them feel special or neglected? Those are what they will remember you for. If you like, build a mansion for a child, he will not remember you for that mansion but how you made him feel inside that mansion.
As Mother Theresa said, “The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved” so go out there, love a child even if you can’t love them all at once, feed one if you can’t feed all at once. Imagine how much we can accomplish if every privileged person in the world helps at least one less privileged person in the world? That definitely will change the world.
Adelove was out on that mission of putting smiles on the faces these ones who are known as the flowers of life on their special day but don’t forget, every day is a special day for a child. You can do yours too no matter how small.
