AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Chelsea defender Nathan Ake in a deal believed to be worth around £20m.
The 22-year-old Netherlands international spent the first half of last season at Bournemouth on loan, before being recalled to the Chelsea squad for their title-winning run-in.
But Eddie Howe’s side have now completed a permanent deal for the versatile defender, who has proved adept in both a back four and back three.
Ake joined Chelsea’s youth team in 2011 from Feyenoord and made his first-team debut on Boxing Day in 2012, aged just 17.
But, despite impressive showings on subsequent loan spells at Reading, Watford and Bournemouth, Ake has made just six further appearances for the Blues first-team and has been deemed surplus to requirements this summer.
The deal comes a day after Bournemouth signed veteran striker Jermain Defoe on a three-year deal.
