All you need is five minutes and few ingredients to make your own spa salt instead of buying salt scrubs in this recession period. Salt scrubs are one of the easiest home spa products to make and a great gift for that friend or family.
With this easy salt scrub recipe, you can exfolilate your skin at home instead of paying for a salt glow at the spa.
1 1 cup sea salt. You can experiment with different textures to see what feels best for your skin. Don’t use simple iodized table salt — it’s too harsh. If you have sensitive skin, make a sugar scrub, which is milder.
2 1/2 cup oil. Use sweet almond, grape seed or another light-textured massage oil. Don’t use simple cooking oil from your kitchen.
3 5-15 drops high quality essential oil. You can choose Lavender which is relaxing, or lemongrass which is refreshing and rosemary which is stimulating.
1 Put the salt in a small bowl.
2 Add the oil, mixing well with a spoon or wooden stick. The texture should be moist enough to hold together, but not overly oily. You can adjust the amount of oil (or add more salt) to achieve that texture.
Next, gently tap in the drops of essential oil and combine well.
Your spa salt is ready to be used!
