Chelsea star Eden Hazard has posted an encouraging injury update via his Instagram page after suffering an ankle injury on international duty earlier this summer.
The 26-year-old attacker looked set to miss the start of the season after breaking his ankle whilst playing for Belgium, but now says he is training without his cast.
Hazard uploaded a photo of himself on a cross-trainer at the club gym, with the caption: ‘A good week, my cast is off, now the lonely journey to full fitness!’
The former Lille man scored a career-high 16 Premier League goals last season as he helped guide Chelsea to the title, and will surely be a vital performer for them again next season.
It is not yet clear when the Belgian will return to action for Antonio Conte’s side, but Blues fans will be delighted to see him making progress on what looked a bad injury.
Chelsea will now hope for more good news in the transfer market, with a move for Tiemoue Bakayoko close to completion but the club’s long search for a new striker dragging on.
Conte missed out on top target Romelu Lukaku as Manchester United hijacked their move, and the Italian is now thought to be demanding both Alvaro Morata and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as additions up front.
