Ogun Demands For Better Recognition In Vat Administration

The Ogun state government says it has not been fairly recognized and treated in the administration of Value Added Tax in the country despite the state accounts for over 40% manufacturing entity being carried out in the country.

The chairman of the state Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Kunle Adeosun made the disclosure during the sensitization exercise to communities, markets, and parks in Ogun west senatorial district of the state on voluntary Assets and income declaration scheme.

While claiming that the state is currently being shortchanged, he, however, admonished companies operating in the state to have a paradigm shift by paying their tax obligations in the state where they operate and not where their administrative headquarters are located.
