Ogun state government said it has completed a preliminary report on the complaints arising from the disputed assets sharing among the state’s 20 local governments and 37 newly created local council development areas (LCDAs).
The state government after the last month sharing of the assets, directed some of the council chairmen who felt aggrieved to forward their complaints to the asset sharing committee for reconsideration.
Local government and chieftaincy affairs commissioner, Chief Jide Ojuko, who made this known in an interview with newsmen in Abeokuta, said the state government has started working on the report of the asset sharing committee which review those complaints.
He said, “The step became necessary to ensure that governance is taken to the grassroots and for the LCDAs to rise to the occasion in the reality of upholding local government administration.”
Ojuko listed the agitations to include, land boundaries issues, sources of revenue and movable assets like vehicles among others.
