Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state on Tuesday suspended activities of the state chapter of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN).
Akeredolu also dissolved the executive body of the association in the state with immediate effect.
He directed the office of his Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties and Strategy to take over the running of the activities of the association.
Segun Ajiboye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor (CPS), in a statement ascribed the suspension to complaints of illegal activities against the union.
“Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has suspended the activities of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) in the state.
“Consequently, the executive body of the association in the state is dissolved with immediate effect.
“The suspension of the activities of the association follows several complaints of illegal activities leveled against the body.
“Governor Akeredolu asks all commercial motorcycle riders in the state to comply with this directive and maintain the peace.
“The office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties & Strategy is to take over the running of the activities of the association in the interim,” the statement said.
