Okada Riders Tricycles’ Association of Nigeria (ORTAN), Ekiti chapter, has revealed that over 5,000 out of the 10,000 members of the body in the state possessed between National Certificate of Education and Bachelor Degrees.
The Association, through its State Deputy Chairman, Com. Olusola Isola, and Public Relations Officer, Com. Sikirulahi Akindipe, said the body has been able to overcome the challenge of reckless riding, leading to killing and maiming of the citizens through their partnership with the police and other security agencies.
Speaking with journalists in Ado Ekiti on Friday, Isola said the high number of graduates among commercial motorcyclists in the state accounted for why there is orderliness and good conducts within the body.
Isola said: “We have over 10,000 members in all the 42 branches across the state and 5,000 of these population hold at least NCE, with many of them parading Bachelor degrees.”
