Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha has conveyed President Muhammadu Buhari’s goodwill message to former Vice-President, Dr Alex Ekwueme in a London hospital.
The SGF, who was in London before Dr Ekwueme’s arrival, was received by his spouse, Mrs Helen Ekwueme on behalf of the Ekwueme family.
Mustapha told the Ekwueme family that the President and all Nigerians are praying for the speedy recovery of the elder statesman, adding that he believed that the doctors were doing their best.
On Sunday, Ekwueme was conveyed to the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, at about 7:30am in a National Orthopedic Hospital SUV ambulance.
He was driven straight into the tarmac, where he was transferred into a waiting air ambulance with registration number N605 JA.
The aircraft had arrived the airport late Saturday evening.
Buhari had, early in the month, approved foreign medical treatment for the former VP.
