The Senator representing Bayelsa East in the National Assembly, Ben-Murray Bruce, has said that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is willing to receive his colleague, Shehu Sani into the main opposition party.
He said the way things are going, it seems the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, no longer want the senator.
The APC in the six local governments that make up Kaduna Central Senatorial district had on Sunday endorsed a rival aspirant and political adviser to Gov. Nasir El-Rufai, Uba Sani, for the 2019 senatorial ticket.
Sani, the Senator representing Kaduna Central, had described the rejection as ‘antics’ by the governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Ben Bruce said in a series of tweet, “Senator @ShehuSani is an asset to Nigeria and a pride to the @NGRSenate. I have traveled all over Nigeria and very few Nigerians can match his intellect.
“If APC doesn’t want him, the @OfficialPDPNig wants him. Nigeria wants him. Democracy needs him. He’s a specimen of patriotism!”
