How Yakubu Gowon save my father in the 1966 coup – Fani Kayode

Former Nigerian minister, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode has revealed what a former Nigerian leader, Yakubu Gowon did for his father a long time ago.

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, has revealed what the former Nigerian Head of State, Yakubu Gowon did for his father in 1966.

Fani-Kayode made the revelation when he shared a photo of himself and the former Nigerian Head of State on his Instagram page recently.

According to him, Gowon saved his father’s life when the “junior officers coup took place in 1996.”

The former minister also gushed about flying in the same plane with the elder statesman.

He wrote: It was a pleasure to fly with former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon today. A perfect gentleman. He and the late Captain S.G. Tokida saved my father’s life on the night of Jan. 15th 1966 when the junior officers coup took place. I always thank him for that whenever see him. I did so again today!

    Captain Nwobosi and his troops invaded Akintola and Fani Kayode’s house and decided to spare Fani Kayode’s life
    If Nwobosi had killed Fani Kayode, how would Gowon have saved him
