What is happening in Ekiti is shameful and undemocratic – Governor Dankwambo

Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State has reacted to reports of violence and harrassment from Ekiti State today that left Governor Fayose hospitalised.

According to Dankwambo, ‘the attempt by the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress to subvert the will of the people on Saturday in Ekiti will be resisted’.

He also said, ‘just got off the phone with my brother, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State. He has briefed me of the ongoing harassment by security operatives. What is happening in Ekiti state is shameful and undemocratic. If we strengthen our public institutions to be effective and independent, we won’t be needing 30,000 Police Officers and 4,000 soldiers to ensure a free, fair and credible election.’

  1. Gov Dankwambo, didn’t know that you are also one of the political hypocrites we have in this our country, had thought you were of a different breed but thank God for what happened in Ekiti yesterday, I now have a better view of you. Were you in the moon when in 2014 the govt controlled by your party sent 28,000 policemen and women to supervise the governorship election in the same Ekiti State or your party and govt didn’t consider it important and or necessary to strengthen our public institutions to make them effective and independent? This is just a typical case of “as you are pointing one finger at someone, the other four fingers are pointing directly at you!

  2. What goes round …… comes around. In all this Ekiti people are the losers as there is no difference between the intellectual and sagacious Dr. Kayode Fayemi and The Agbero Mr. Ayodele Fayose (half a dozen = 6 – its just one is in words and the other in figure). As long as we refuse to stop recycling of bad politicians in this country we will continue having the same shameful occurances in our polity. Ekiti should go out and Vote for the young Banker Akinloye Aiyegbusi and bring in a breath of fresh air into their Government House and economy.
