Speaking at a rally on Wednesday to welcome Akpabio into the APC, Oshiomhole claimed that it was a step that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, would not take.

“Godswill Akpabio resigned his position as Minority Leader to join APC, something that Bukola Saraki cannot do,” he said.

Saraki, speaking at a world press conference earlier in the day, insisted that he would not resign from his position.

According to him, his removal must be by two-third majority of the Upper Chamber.

“Let me reiterate that neither myself, Deputy Senate President or Speaker belong to the class of politicians that are desperate to stay in power by all means and at all costs.

“The day, two thirds of our members feel they do not have confidence in our leadership, we will gracefully bow out.

“I repeat again and again, this is not about us, but about respecting the constitution and the rule of law,” Saraki said.

  1. Abegi If u don’t have anything to say just shut up. Apc told him to resign with the promise of making him the Senate president . Shame on to u Akpabio

  2. But Oga oshiomole, their positions are two different thing, saraki as we all know is the president of the senate, while Akpabio is the minority leader of PDP in the senate, therefore he has to resign if he is no longer in the party, he can’t be in APC and still leads PDP senators. So Mr man better get sense.

  3. The post of minority leader was given to him by PDP not the legislators why saraki was elected by his colleague legislators From different political parties so oga keep your mouth shut
