INEC declares APC candidate Dapo Abiodun as winner of Ogun governorship election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Dapo Abiodun, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state, as winner of the governorship election.

He polled 241,670 votes to defeat Adekunle Akinlade, governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) who secured 222,153, leaving a margin of 19,517 votes.

APC won in 11 of the 20 local government areas (LGAs), APM had six LGAs, Action Democratic Congress (2) while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP0 won just one LGA.

  1. Pride goes before downfall
    Amosun and Okorocha allowed foolish pride to becloud their sense of reasoning
    Both APC leaders flagrantly defied and betrayed their own political party and went on to support and campaign for governorship candidates from another party
    They disrespected party supremacy just because their preferred candidates were rejected by the party executives
    What did they get in return , disgrace and humiliation as their candidates lost
