LeBron James & Derrick Rose set stage for Future thrillers: Joe Vardon’s instant analysis

COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the first time this preseason, LeBron James was on the floor in the fourth quarter.

Unfortunately for a packed Value City Arena, when he exited the game with about six minutes left, Chicago’s Derrick Rose passed him on his way in.

Fans missed a chance to see James and Rose duke it out in the final quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 107-98 preseason win, but from the look of things Monday night there will be plenty opportunities for that when the games count.

James finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in what was likely his final game of the preseason. Rose finished with 30 points and had 27 through three quarters, had it been a game that mattered James surely would’ve guarded him in the fourth.
