ASUU, Ebonyi State chapter, lamented over Infrastructure Decay in Nig Universities

Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Ebonyi state chapter, Prof Ndubusi Idenyi yesterday lamented the infrastructure decay in Nigerian Universities.
Prof. Idenyi who attributed the menace to poor funding urged government at all levels to give adequate attention to tertiary institution in 2015 budget to rehabilitate Universities across the country. Prof. Idenyi made this known while briefing journalists in Abakaliki during the one year anniversary marking the death of Prof. Festus Iyayi, former National Chairman of ASUU who died in active service.
He noted that the Nigerian educational sector is drastically going into oblivion and tasked the federal government to provide valid infrastructures in universities.
He faulted the recent suspension of four universities across the country by the national leadership of ASUU for allegedly resuming academic activities before the strike was formally called off.
“We resumed academic activities while strike is not yet officially called off. As a result of that some universities such as University of Nigeria NsuKka, UNN, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUTH, Ebonyi State University, EBSU and Federal University of Technology Owerrri, FUTO were all suspended. He stressed the readiness of ASUU to contribute its quota in the repositioning of Nigerian Universities.
“ASUU is working hard to ensure that the educational sector is repositioned, starting from the Primary, secondary and tertiary institutions across the country. We are producing a book to that effect”. He added
