Report made it known that telecoms firm, Globacom, has commended the Super Falcons for the qualification for the 2015 All-Africa Games following their 8-0 win over visiting Mali team at the National Stadium in Abuja.
The Falcons qualified for the tournament 9-1 aggregate, having played 1-1 in their first leg fixture in Bamako two weeks ago.
The All-Africa Games will hold in Congo Brazzaville in September.
The trio of Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie and Francisca Ordega scored a brace each, while Esther Sunday and captain Evelyn Nwabuoku added one goal each to seal the victory
Globacom said in a press statement, “The Super Falcons should leave no stone unturned as they work toward a good outing in the All-African Games and ensure that they emerge victorious, thus consolidating their position as the number one women’s team in Africa.”
“We noted with great interest the fighting spirits and determination the team demonstrated in the match against Mali and we believe this will help them to make Nigeria stand out in Congo. We believe the team have the character and pedigree to achieve the ultimate goal of winning gold.”
