Ahead of the November 21 governorship election in Kogi State, about 20 interest groups and supporters from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Receiving the PDP defectors in Idah, on Tuesday, the APC governorship candidate, Prince Abubarka Audu said the APC government will be fair to them.
Audu disclosed that if given the mandate to govern the state, his government would fix all the township roads that were in bad shape.
He called on residents of the area to vote en-mass for the APC come November 21.
“A vote for the APC is a vote for change in Kogi State”, he said.
Also speaking, Chairman of Idah Local Government Area, Dr Mulalib Major, who was one of the council bosses recently reinstated by a Court of Appeal judgement, but defected to APC, said he and other several members of the PDP dumped the party due to lack of internal democracy.
