Four Oil firm workers abducted, driver shot dead in Edo

According to reports, four workers of an oil firm have been abducted by suspected kidnappers on the Benin-Akure expressway in Edo State. The abductors were said to have taken their victims into the forest.

It was learnt that the oil workers were going for a training programme in a nearby state. The driver of their vehicle was reportedly shot while another female managed to escape.

Last week, the police arrested some men with four AK-47 rifles in the area.

It was learnt that a combined team of security agecies, including the Directorate of State Security (DSS) and the police, have been combing the bush for the abductors.

Police spokesman, Osifo Abiodun, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said the command was on top of the situation. He said policemen had been deployed in the area to rescue the victims.

  2. I pray for the discovery and safe rescue of these workers! Law abiding citizens going about their lawful duties shouldn’t be subjected to these harrowing experiences!! Our security operatives should please do their very utmost best in this regards!!!
