The spokesperson for NEMA, Ibrahim Faronloye, has said they would not relent in their efforts until others still trapped in the collapsed building are rescued. According to reports, there are still several others trapped in the building including a nursing mother. They have been putting calls across to their relatives seeking for help.

  1. As much as I agree that God watches and protect us, we unfortunately orchestrate our own problems. God has exempted us from league of countries affected by earthquake and other terrible disasters, which seem to be a luxury lot of countries wish they had. Issue of building collapse in Nigeria, especially lagos, should be history by now. Our problems are clients looking for cheap construction, unprofessional contractors and lack of quality control from our government. It’s high time we buckle up and get things right. In this regard, God has done his part.

  2. I agree with above comment. This is man made disaster. Though that part of Lagos island is swampy, the professionals in the agencies of government tend to compromise their control measures besides the greedy natures of most property owners. Where do we go from here? RIP to those who lost their lives.
