Kano governor, Ganduje, sacks SSG appointed by Kwankwaso

Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has appointed Usman Usman as the new Secretary to the State Government.

Mr. Usman’s appointment followed the dismissal of Rabiu Bichi, who was appointed by the immediate-past governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwoso, but was retained by Mr. Ganduje.

Mr. Bichi’s removal came amid an ongoing feud between the governor and his predecessor. Until his appointment, Mr. Usman served as the Commissioner for Finance in the state. Others affected in the cabinet reshuffle include Baba Dantiye, who was redeployed from the Directorate of General Media and Communications to the Ministry of Commerce as Permanent Secretary.

Saluhu Yakassai, son of renowned politician, Tanko Yakassai, replaced Mr. Dantiye as the Director-General Media of Media and Communications.

Ibrahim Kankarofi, a retired permanent secretary, was appointed as the Principal Secretary to the governor, after his predecessor, Usman Bala, was redeployed to the Ministry of Health as Permanent Secretary.
