Senator Alimikhena said this when he addressed the youths, women, party leaders, APC chieftains and supporters during an empowerment programme and a thank you tour round the six local government areas in Edo North.

He maintained that those who contest in elections are not ready to lose their lives in the contest, and wanted to know why one should kill for the man who is not ready to die.

According to him, the overall objective of all politicians is personal interest and not the interest of those who are ready to die for them and that the most miserable way to die is to die for politicians and face the wrath of God at the end.

The Senator maintained that Edo governorship election is a call to patriotism and individual should not take it upon himself or herself to destroy others for a short journey of four years.

”I am here to say thank you for voting for me and to distribute the first phase of empowerment material like Keke NAPEP, motorcycles, sewing machines , trashing machines and several other type of grinding machines. The second phase is coming up in November,”

The Edo North leader who also appealed to politicians to calm the level of tension that is all over the state ahead of the forth coming governorship election said the tension being created by politicians in Edo State is not worth the trouble and should be guided against before it goes beyond control.

He cautioned delegates against going astray in the forth coming election saying that a common mistake can enslave the state for eternity, pleading with them to resist a candidate who is desperate without anything to offer the people of Edo State.

“After interaction with all the aspirants in the state, the only aspirant that has good plans and meant well for the state is Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

He has the passion to continue the good work that Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has started for the past eight years.

”We were once regarded as a civil servant state, we need a Governor that will industrialize Edo State and increase the economic base of our dear state through his influence and contact. Obaseki has all the potentials to make Edo the heartbeat of the nation.

”We have been the heart beat in title, this is the time to see the substance that makes Edo the heartbeat of Nigeria and the person to make this happen is Obaseki. Governor Adams Oshiomhole has laid all the necessary infrastructure development foundation. We need a man with foresight that can heat the ground running,” he said.
