Ekiti House of Assembly members protest alleged harassment of Fayose by FG

Twenty-six members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly on Tuesday staged a public protest over what they termed the Federal Government’s harassment of the State Governor, Ayo Fayose, and members of the House.

They staged the protest at Okesa Junction in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

They said the Federal Government was harassing both Fayose and members of the House with its “witch-hunting apparatus”.

A statement on Wednesday said the Assembly members, who came prepared for arrest with their travelling bags to the spot of the sit down protest, vowed to remain at the spot the whole day.

They promised to support Governor Fayose with whatever it takes, including sacrificing their lives, adding: “This is 2016 and not 2006.”

Fayose was presumed to have been removed from office in 2006 by the then administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo through the instrumentality of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and members of the State House of Assembly.

  1. Shame! Shame!! Shame!!! Monumental SHAME. Ekiti record of integrity is bastardised by very unfortunate representatives of pious people who out of ordinary will never support corruption. Where are the intellectuals ?

  2. This is what u get when u have a collection of idle empty heads calling themselves legislators, it is better imagined the quality of laws these bunch of mediocrities will be making. It is just unfortunate that Ekiti State indigenes should allow their State to degenerate to this very low level!

  3. I have been expecting dis na. A couple of days back, Ayo shared some booties among d noisemakers calling demselves lawmakers. Iya nje gbogbo yin. Stomach infrastructures you dey. You better wake up from your deep slumber
