Recall that the Justice Abang-led court had recently sacked Ikpeazu as governor of the state over tax evasion.

The judge had also ordered the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, to issue Ogah with certificate of return which was done.

Following the court’s ruling, Ikpeazu filed for stay of execution seeking the court to set aside its earlier decision.

Ruling on the suit was initially fixed for Thursday 4th July, 2016 by the court but the public holiday stalled the matter from holding which was deferred till today.

  1. Delay is very dangerous. This is pre-election matter and it hinges on tax receipt forgery. If this case was decided before the 2015 election, would Jega not remove Ikpeazu’s name and replace it with Ogah’s name go ahead with the election?, and if Ogah wins, would he not be sworn in?. Would Jega had waited for Ikpeazu’s appeal cum supreme court outcome before carrying Abia state along in that election?. These are the question begging for answers. How can you apply electoral law to a criminal matter which the court has ruled against the occupier of the a seat? .

  2. Dr Ikpeazu and T A orji have continued to spend Abia state money on litigations as to remain in power. T A orji had ruined Abia state and won’t let allow anything that would lead to exposing him. Abians Billions if not trillion is wasted unnecessary while the workers are suffering for non-payment of salary. Everyone is complaining.
