I will empower, secure Niger Delta region – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said his administration remains committed to empowering the Niger Delta.


Buhari said this while playing host to some leaders of Ogoniland at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He also used the opportunity to reaffirm his administration’s commitment towards the Ogoniland cleanup.

The President, who took to his official twitter handle, @MBuhari, to welcome the delegates, said he remained committed “to cleaning, securing and empowering the Niger Delta.”

He added that the mandate “is genuine. We made a promise, we will fulfill it.”

The delegates led by, HRM King G.N.K. Gininwa (JP) OFR, Gbenemene Tai Kingdom also had football star, Joseph Yobo.

Buhari had recently flagged off the cleaning of the Ogoniland, a move that would lead to further clean-up of the Niger Delta region.

The President had last week said the clean-up of Ogoniland and other communities in the region will last for 20 years.

  3. They are not amajiris, that u want to start feeding with food empowerment , give them enuf slot in your government and top key positions, aslo draw out your plans
