The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, at his 77th birthday celebration over the weekend averred that he has only political enemies in his sojourn in public office.
Oyegun, who fielded questions from journalists after marking his birthday with his staff at the APC National Headquarters in Abuja, also stated that his coming into politics was accidental.
According to him, he did not deliberately join politics but was lured into it by those who believed in him.
He, however, stated that looking back over the years he has no regrets whatsoever joining the game of politicking, even as he stated that as long as he lives, he will do all in his capacity to ensure Nigeria achieve greatness.
Interacting with journalists on his sojourn to politics and if there was any regret, he said: “No, I have not had any regret actually. For me it has been an era of service to nation and like I said I think I only said that publicly once, the moment I embarked on politics and decided to be a full time politician and to seek elective office, my objective was clear and that is that I was growing up and look up to these wonderful leaders; Nnamdi Azikiwe, Ahmadu Bello, Obafemi Awolowo, Tafawa Belewa.”
