Plateau promotes 5, 858 employees, 1,067 teachers

According to reports, the Plateau state government has approved the promotion of 5,858 workers and 1,067 teachers, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Ahmad Nazif, has said.


Nafiz,men’s disclosed this in Jos, explained that the office of Head of service in conjunction with the civil service commission has processed and released the promotion of 5,858 civil servants in the state and effected the promotion of 1,067 teachers in collaboration with the Teaching Service Commission to further boost the morale of the teachers towards improving the standards of education.

The information commissioner added that the office was also facilitating the implementation of the contributory pension scheme, adding that Governor Simon Lalong has approved 515 new pensioners to be placed on government’s monthly pay roll.

The head of civil service, Izam Azi, also spoke on the issue of employment and N1 million house renovation loans for civil servants in collaboration with the Federal Mortgage Bank.

On her part, state commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Talmakat Weli, said government was happy to have been able to settle the salaries of workers up to July this year, adding that it is fully implementing international public sector standards to promote efficiency and conserve public funds.

Also contributing, State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Jonathan Mayiyau, said that his ministry has taken receipt of 96 criminal cases from different justice sectors with 56 criminal cases filed within the period.
