It was gathered that the Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, has been accused of attempts to stop the resumption of schools in Rivers State.
The allegation was levelled against Amaechi, a former Governor of Rivers State, by the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the State, Bro Felix Obuah.

In a statement on Monday, Obuah accused Amaechi of using proxies to stop the resumption of schools.
He, however, commended teachers, parents and pupils of public primary schools for resuming as scheduled despite the alleged attempt by Amachi.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam, Obuah alleged that Amaechi, through his proxies at Pentagon Security, attempted to stop school resumption, but that all stakeholders insisted that education remains paramount hence they resumed classes.
Obuah described as unfortunate the desperation of the All Progressives Congress and her leaders in Rivers State, “who are prepared to sacrifice the future of the state by employing surreptitious dubious and deceptive ploys to stop the smooth resumption of public schools as directed by the State government”.
The Rivers State PDP Chairman expressed happiness that all education stakeholders in the state appreciate the efforts of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, hence their public support and solidarity with him at all times.
