Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly under some pressure at the club already after a limp performance in the defeat to Liverpool last week.

The Blues were beaten 2-1 at Stamford Bridge after a shocking first-half display, with owner Roman Abramovich said to have held talks with club chiefs about Conte’s performance afterwards.

The Russian has made it clear that he has high expectations of Conte after his appointment this summer, with talks reportedly going on until 1am on Friday night, according to the Daily Star.

Chelsea went 2-0 down at the break after goals from Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson, before Diego Costa gave them a lifeline by pulling one back in the second half.

However, the loss leaves Conte’s side five points behind league leaders Manchester City already, and Abramovich has supposedly questioned some of the Italian’s decision-making against the Reds.

Despite a poor attacking display, the Chelsea boss waited until the 84th minute to make any substitutions, and did not introduce £33million striker Michy Batshuayi, signed in the summer, to help draw the game level.

Abramovich is now expected to provide the former Juventus manager with more funds to improve his struggling side when the transfer window re-opens in January.
