Adegboye, while reviewing the case, said the prosecutor, Sergeant Leranmo Caleb, called five witnesses and the defence counsel, Busuyi Ayeni, called the convicts as his witnesses.

He said the evidence of the convicts were not credible, adding that the prosecution proved his case beyond reasonable doubt.

Adegboye said he was lenient on the convicts because of the plea of their counsel.

The convicts were charged with conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretence and defrauding some people by claiming that their brother was an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Abuja.

Caleb said the convicts committed the crime at Basiri Area between November 2014 and June 2015.

The prosecution said the convicts under false pretence obtained N1 million from five different people with the intent of giving them work at the NSCDC.

He said the offence contravened section 419,108 of the Criminal Code,Cap C 16,Laws of Ekiti State 2012.
