Shocking!! Yaya Toure’s agent says Guardiola called Man City a small club’ in 2010

Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has continued his feud with Pep Guardiola by claiming the Manchester City manager called his current employers a “s— team” in 2010.

Guardiola has said Toure will not play again for Manchester City until Seluk apologises for saying the coach was “humiliating a great player” by leaving him out of his Champions League squad.

Seluk refused to apologise on Sky Sports on Tuesday, and then told Barcelona radio station Cadena SER of an exchange between the manager and Toure six years ago, when Toure left Guardiola’s Barcelona to join Manchester City.

“When Toure left Barca, Guardiola told him he was going to a s— team,” Seluk said. “And now Guardiola has come to that s— team.

“That is the situation And it is because Guardiola likes money. He likes money more than football. That is the situation.”

Guardiola managed Barcelona until 2012, then after a year’s sabbatical moved to Bayern Munich for three seasons before taking over City this summer.

Seluk also criticised Guardiola for taking out their strained personal relationship on his client.

“Guardiola talks a lot about how this or that agent is good. But the reality is that Guardiola protects the players of the agents he gets along with,” he said.

“If the agent has a good relationship with the coach, the player is good. If he doesn’t, the player is bad.

“[Guardiola] is coming to a place where Toure already is. Toure did not go to a team where Guardiola was.”

Guardiola’s brother Pere is also an agent, whose clients include Barcelona star Luis Suarez.

Seluk also said Guardiola did not make a difference at his former clubs, noting that Luis Enrique had similar success after taking over Barcelona, and backing Carlo Ancelotti to continue to win more titles at Bayern.

“It is true that Guardiola won many things at Barca. But Barca are Barca. Luis Enrique came to Barca and they have won just as many things that they did when Guardiola was there,” Seluk said.

“That means that Barca did not win because of Guardiola but rather because of the structure they have in place.

“The same thing happened at Bayern Munich. Bayern had won everything and Guardiola won titles. But I am sure that with Carlo Ancelotti, they will do even better.”

The agent then suggested that Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino and Leicester City’s Claudio Ranieri were better managers for doing more with fewer resources.

“Guardiola has not gone to the Tottenham of Pochettino,” Seluk said. “[Pochettino] is a coach with merit. He came close to winning the Premier League title with Tottenham. Or Ranieri, who has won the title with Leicester.

“Guardiola only goes where there is a lot of money. Of course, Manchester City can buy whatever they want, they have a lot of money.”

Reports in Portugal claimed Guardiola attended Benfica’s game against Braga on Monday to watch 21-year-old left-back Alex Grimaldo, but Press Association Sport reported on Wednesday that the manager was not in Lisbon and City have no interest in the player.
